What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring a valid hunting license for the state in which you plan to hunt, either Pennsylvania or New York.

Arrangements can be made through Full Fan Lodge to acquire non resident hunting licenses for you.

(Please be sure to allow us enough time to accomplish this.)

You do not need to bring towels, bed linens, pillows etc. unless you have specific needs.

Why can't I hunt on my own?

All of our hunting is on private land, either owned by Full Fan Lodge or leased by Full Fan Lodge from other land owners. Because of this we must carry a good deal of liability insurance which dictates that a representative of Full Fan Lodge accompany all hunters. Also because of hunting on property not owned by Full Fan Lodge there are problems that arise regarding property lines. We have worked very hard to be good neighbors with all the property owners in our area. It could be very easy to get onto the wrong property accidentally causing a land owner problem.

Because of the above stated reasons Full Fan Lodge can not allow any hunters to hunt without a representative of Full Fan Lodge present.

What is your success ratio?

Our success ratio over the years has been fairly high, usually ranging around 65% to 85% kills on turkey and around 90% to 98% opportunity. Our bow hunters have been averaging around 75% kills on whitetail deer and around 140% opportunity.

We are in a very game rich environment and our numbers indicate this.

Full Fan Lodge has introduced some mineral programs in order to help propagate better antler growth. We have been seeing some improvement in the last year or so.

When is the best time to come?

This is the the question that we are asked the most. It is also the hardest one to answer. Hunting is dictated largely by weather. This is especially true in spring gobbler hunting, and because of this we recommend that you come when you can put three days in a row together. During the course of a three day hunt your chance of success is much greater. There is nothing more disheartening than to wake up to a torrential downpour or howling winds when you only have one day to hunt. During the course of three days you will almost always get at least one good day. Again weather will dictate when the birds will be gobbling, the first week isn't necessarily the best week.
